Santa Olivia - Jacqueline Carey

Frustrated by the injustices visited upon her friends and neighbors by the military occupiers, Loup is determined to avenge her community. Aided by a handful of her fellow orphans, Loup takes on the guise of their patron saint, Santa Olivia, and sets out to deliver vigilante justice--aware that if she is caught, she could lose her freedom...and possibly her life. My review: I’ll be fairly brief with this one. I could have given this book a really high rating. It had a well-paced, captivating plot and a variety of intruiging characters, but it got to the point where, in good conscience, I could no longer read it. I gave it a very good effort, but there is only so much cursing, and sex (of all kinds) that a girl like myself can take before she decides there are better places to spend her time. I’ll be selling this one to a used bookstore where, perhaps, someone who is far less particular might have themselves an, uh, interesting time.
My rating: 2 Stars
Sum it up: Ultimately, it just wasn't my thing.
